Virelline

Virelline, the Brine-Sib / The Mouth Beneath the Buoy

Role: Oracle-Witch of the Deep — intermediary, spell-forger, and manipulator.
Form: A tangle of seaweed, bones, and beauty. Appears as a hag or a mermaid depending on her mood and the current.
Teeth like pearls, but eyes like barnacles—blind, yet she sees through eel familiars.
Often rides inside a hollowed jellyfish, or emerges from floating cauldrons buoyed by driftwood.

Function & Lore:
Lives among the ruins of drowned temples, half in our world and half in dreams.
Trades in curses, prophecies, and drowned magic. To speak with her, one must offer her a breath held for seven days.
Believed to be the last living witness of the Drowned Sovereign’s true form and remembers what others were made to forget.

Power:
Wields magic that can undo bindings, awaken drowned memories, or transform a soul into seafoam.
Known to send sea-dreams to mortals—sometimes as warnings, sometimes as lures.

Temptation:
She offers fae and mortals alike the choice to forget their pain or drown in it.
Dangerous to owe her anything; her price may be something you haven’t lost yet.
