A small, glistening black pearl, slick with faint traces of language etched across its surface. When held in the mouth for long enough, it dissolves—and in doing so, releases a single truth that the holder had been unwilling to admit.

The truth comes in a voice not their own. Sometimes it is spoken aloud. Sometimes it remains within.

These pearls are grown in certain trenches. It is unknown whether the truths they reveal are seeded intentionally… or harvested.

Pearl therapy was briefly trialled by fae-aligned medics. Ceased after two patients tore out their own tongues to “keep the secret from escaping.”
