The Thistle Needle

Description:
A long, slender silver needle entwined with a dried thistle stem, cold to the touch and faintly emitting the scent of aged herbs mixed with metallic tang. The needle’s tip gleams with a faint unnatural light and is said to be infused with Mother Thistle’s dark magic, used in grotesque culinary rites that bind flesh and spirit.

Recovery Notes:
Recovered from the hidden kitchen lair beneath a grassy knoll in the Pale Country, where Mother Thistle is known to reside. The needle was found embedded in a butcher’s block stained with old blood and spices. Handling was accompanied by faint whispers and visions of twisted feasts.

Function and Believed Use:
Believed to be a tool for binding or marking prey, the needle is said to “sew” souls and memories into flesh, enabling Mother Thistle to control or harvest victims more effectively. It may also be used to bind victims to the Pale Country or to her will.

Known Incidents:
Incident 31B: An operative pierced by the needle experienced intrusive memories not their own and physical symptoms of gradual fading from reality.
Incident 34D: The needle was used in a dark ritual leading to the temporary manifestation of a spectral feast, causing hallucinations and mass fainting.

Containment Protocol:
Stored in a hermetically sealed, warded container infused with purifying herbs and protective runes.
Handling restricted to personnel trained in anti-fae and dark magic protocols.
Direct contact forbidden; remote manipulation tools mandatory.
Immediate decontamination and psychological evaluation required after exposure.
