Hearthbone Bloom

Classification: Bone-Rooted Shade Flower
Location: Grows in hearth-ruins, burnt clearings, or sites of abandoned homes

Description:
A low, sooty plant with charred petals and a central stalk resembling a cracked femur. It always grows at the exact centre of where a fire once burned, especially fires caused by grief or rage.

Properties:
The flower can recall the final emotions of those who last lived or died near it. Inhaling its scent brings vivid, involuntary visions of farewell, abandonment, or betrayal.

Lore:
It’s believed to grow from the grief of domestic ghosts—those who died within their homes or were driven from them. Some fae say the plant grows best when someone still waits to be forgiven.

Uses:
Used in rituals of binding or reconciliation, particularly with restless spirits or memories of exiles. Crushed and steeped, its oil becomes a medium for spirit-channeling ink.

Warning:
Extended exposure may cause a person to adopt the memories of those once present, blurring personal identity.
