Classification: Sympathetic Creeper
Location: Climbs over broken statues, abandoned scarecrows, and old garments
Description:
This vine grows in delicate, braided strands of soft colourless fibres that mimic the textures of linen, hair, or twine. It often winds into humanoid shapes when unchecked.
Properties:
Threadvine can absorb impressions left in clothing or effigies. If wrapped around a garment, it may cause the wearer to take on traits of the previous owner—voice, posture, memories.
Lore:
Used by fae crafters to “stitch identity” into their changelings. Human folk who find Threadvine in their cupboards often speak in voices they don’t recognize.
Uses:
Can be woven into fetish dolls or effigies. When burned during a naming rite, it ensures a changeling’s disguise holds.
Warning:
Should never be allowed near the clothing of the dead. If it takes hold, the vine may animate the garments into a crude revenant.
