The Bridegroom of Bees
- Appearance: A regal figure in patchwork robes of bark, moss, and wax. His crown is a living hive; honey drips from his mouth when he speaks. His eyes are amber and always watching. His skin swarms occasionally—especially when he’s angry.
- Personality: Eerily polite, deeply sentimental, obsessed with rituals and promises. Holds grudges across lifetimes. Offers kindness in ways that feel more like traps.
- Abilities:
- Promise-Binding: Any vow made in his presence becomes binding. Breaking it invites the bees.
- Memory Preservation: Stores emotions, vows, and names inside the honey of his hive. Eating it can return or overwrite memories.
- Swarmbody: Can dissolve into a cloud of bees and reform elsewhere. Particularly terrifying when whispering through walls.
- Domain: The Hollow Hearth—a long-abandoned wedding hall of thorns, always set for a feast that never begins. His would-be bride is forever “almost arriving.”
- Rumors:
- Once promised to the Thorn-Mother herself, he fled before the wedding and now tries to craft a new bride from human souls.
- He believes love is the only true power—but has no understanding of it beyond obsession.
