Glassthorn Vial

Classification: Psychic Echo Container
Material: Moon-blown crystal with fused Glimmerthorn tip

Recovered: From a drowned chest in the marsh-lake known as Memory’s Bowl, sealed with wax made from pressed shadow-berries.

Description:
A thumb-length vial with a wicked thornlike stopper. When opened, it releases a stored echo—a voice, scream, lullaby, or plea. These echoes have no known speaker and may lie.

Properties:

  • Each vial stores one distinct vocal imprint
  • Can be used to deceive scrying devices, distract fae sentinels, or mimic a lost loved one
  • Must be resealed quickly; exposure causes emotional instability

Known Usage:
Used by fae smugglers to transmit coded messages or illusions across the Briar Reaches. One such vial released the “dying breath” of a girl who was never born.

Warning:
Shattering the vial causes the echo to embed in the nearest living mind, who will repeat it involuntarily for days.
