Classification: Captive Weaving Relic
Material: Glimmerthorn filaments, dried bloodbloom silk, bone clasps
Recovered: Draped across a stone cradle in a collapsed grotto, deep in the Reaches. The cradle’s base was carved with fae nuptial symbols and a split ring.
Description:
A veil-like net, impossible to fold or tear, threaded with thorns so fine they vanish when looked at directly. When spread over the face, it reveals the bonds of belonging—chosen or stolen.
Properties:
- Allows the wearer to see what claims them, emotionally or magically
- Causes intense emotional reactions in those bound by oath, pact, or ancestry
- Sometimes reveals who wove the claim, even if centuries old
Known Usage:
Said to have been woven by the Thorn Mother to identify which of her lost daughters had been given away, bartered, or corrupted. Fae myth claims it was last worn at the marriage of a mortal and a hound-faced prince.
Warning:
Wearing the net more than once risks being claimed anew. Many see their own face in the next veil-binder.
