Classification: Dream-Path Beacon
Material: Hollowed Witch’s Lantern fungus, framed in bent silver root
Recovered: From the rafters of a burned-down barn on the Mirecourt edge. The room smelled of salt and rotting memory.
Description:
A soft-glowing pod with interior strands that pulse like heartstrings. When lit, it projects a flickering light path visible only to those with recent grief or unresolved longing.
Properties:
- Creates a one-way bridge to the place of strongest emotional loss
- Only visible to those actively mourning or whose regrets have been harvested
- Attracts forest spirits and emotional parasites
Known Usage:
Used in old mourning rites to seek out lost kin or soul-bound lovers. The lantern guides—but only to places the bearer cannot return from unaided.
Warning:
Multiple lights seen from the same lantern indicate a splintered self. Do not follow more than one beam.
