The Hollow Wedding

Date Logged: 22 May 1963
Subject: Disappearance of Marjorie Blithe, 24
Location: Burned chapel ruin, Ashcombe Thicket

Summary:
During preparations for her wedding, seamstress Marjorie Blithe vanished while collecting wildflowers in the Ashcombe Thicket. Her fiancé later found her bridal veil hanging from a tree, pierced by Glimmerthorn. Three days later, the wedding dress was found—stitched shut from within and filled with soft ash.

Institute Findings:

  • Discovery of a Threadvine bundle in the chapel’s collapsed altar
  • An Echo-Bark nearby whispered, “She chose the finer vow.”
  • A second veil recovered months later from a Hollow Thimble fae-market

Status:
Classed as a voluntary crossing into the Reaches. The fae offering at the market claimed Marjorie “wed the vine-lord with thimble teeth.” Unverified.

Note:
Two subsequent brides in the village also disappeared in woods. One left behind a bouquet of teeth wrapped in ribbon.
