Leon Okoro

Alias: The Man in the Static
Origin: South London → Chattenden Barracks, Kent (1988)
Age When Taken: 18
Current Age: 55

Before Captivity:
Leon was a bright, determined young man from South London, one of the youngest recruits in his unit. Known for his calm under pressure and quick tactical mind, he was training at Chattenden Barracks near Hoo as part of an urban warfare simulation. During a routine live-scenario exercise, his team lost contact with him after he entered a derelict training house. His comms cut to static. When they breached the structure, it was empty. CCTV footage from the outside shows Leon entering—but no exit, no trace.

In Faylinn:
Leon was drawn into a labyrinthine zone of cracked concrete and flickering streetlights—a fae-built simulacrum of urban decay. Here, soldiers played endless games of war without dying, without purpose, without memory. He was forced to fight alongside silent, identical units of himself and others: echoes caught in looped scenarios. Time shifted in bursts. He learned to manipulate “narrative edges,” using dead-end corridors and broken radio signals to bend space. He eventually found a way out through a door that had only opened once—when he stopped playing the game.

After Return:
When he reappeared in the barracks in 2005, they were long closed, and in the process of being redeveloped as social housing. Leon appeared ‘from nowhere’ in the middle of a building site. When questioned, he said only: “The house changed its mind.” FDG took over the case immediately.
He now lives in an FDG-monitored flat in Woolwich. Avoids electronic devices. TVs flicker when he enters a room. Radios catch signals from nowhere. He always sits with his back to the wall and refuses to walk through certain doors twice.

Scars:
His voice sometimes echoes half a second late over radios or intercoms.
Has recurring nightmares of “dying without consequence”.
Draws floorplans obsessively—none match real buildings.
His reflection in dark windows occasionally blinks twice.
