The Lantern That Carries No Flame

“It does not burn. It remembers.

An old brass lantern with no candle inside. Instead, it emits a soft, sea-glow only visible to those who are mourning. The Lantern That Carries No Flame lights paths between worlds—not across them.

When carried near beach ruins or tide-thresholds, it reveals invisible footprints, floating letters, or drowned paths that no longer exist. Those who follow them may recover what was lost… but also risk becoming part of the path themselves.

Used in conjunction with the Tideglass in field operations. Must be extinguished before dawn or the bearer begins to forget how to return.
