Role: Infiltration Specialist, FDG Access Breach and Threshold Recon Unit
Background:
Vix Patel’s first encounter with the fae wasn’t by accident—it was by dare. In 1997, at age seventeen, she broke into a long-abandoned mansion on the edge of a wooded estate in Kent. She and three friends crept through dust-choked halls and shattered stained glass, laughing—until they reached a room lined with mirrors.
The reflections didn’t match.
The mirrors showed people that weren’t there. Movements that hadn’t been made. Vix stepped back. The others stepped forward. She fled. Only one of her friends was ever found, days later, barefoot and wordless, eyes fixed on something far beyond the waking world.
Vix never talked to anyone about that night. But someone had been watching.
Within a year, she was approached by the Institute—not for what she saw, but for what she did: recognize danger, resist its pull, and get out alive. She’s now one of the FDG’s most trusted infiltration specialists, deployed when thresholds form where no door should be.
Skills:
- Highly skilled in stealth entry, bypassing physical and symbolic protections
- Deep intuition for boundary phenomena and spatial anomalies
- Frequently operates without digital gear—uses analog tools to avoid fae interference
- Capable of identifying hidden pathways, occult locks, and liminal traps
Often sent ahead of teams to determine if a site is breached or merely forgotten.
Personality:
Sharp, fast, and fearless—but not reckless. Vix plays the role of the irreverent rogue, but her instincts are honed and her fear is real. She masks it with jokes, nicknames, and a soft spot for junior recruits. Keeps to herself off-mission, but always answers the phone when it rings after midnight.
Motive:
To make sure no one else gets left behind. Vix never stopped blaming herself for walking away that night. Now, she makes sure she’s the first one in—and the one who knows how to get back out.
