Role: Head Researcher of Fae Phenomena
Background: Dr. Margot Lacey’s fascination with the unseen world began in her childhood, when she discovered her great-grandmother’s leather-bound journal filled with notes on Cornish faerie sightings and whispered family secrets. She later earned a doctorate in folklore and cryptozoology from the University of St Andrews, where she became known for her unorthodox theories about the physicality of myths. Her academic career ended abruptly after a series of mysterious drownings at a remote Scottish loch drew her attention. Margot uncovered evidence of a siren colony using the loch as a feeding ground, nearly becoming their next victim before being saved by a Faylinn Defence Group operative. She accepted their offer to join, seeking a deeper understanding of the fae threat.
Skills: Fluent in Old English, Gaelic, and several fae dialects. Expert in portal mechanics, runic languages, and fae physiology. She maintains a collection of fae artifacts in her cluttered office, including a petrified selkie skin and a withered, singing mandrake root.
Personality: Sharp, eccentric, and obsessive. Known for her dry wit and tendency to mutter in dead languages when frustrated. Though often distracted by obscure theories, she is deadly serious in a crisis and fiercely protective of her research team.
Motive: To unlock the mysteries of the fae dimension, preserve humanity’s collective folklore, and ensure human survival in an increasingly unstable world. She dreams of one day mapping the fae realm itself.
